Paleny - Բալենին (Western Armenian)

The book is based on the story of my family and especially my lovely daughter, Paleny. It shows how love and support from our surroundings are important to overcome difficulties and obstacles in life. It also invites us to concentrate on the brighter side of things even when there seems to be total darkness around us.

The main objective of the book is to raise awareness about children with special needs. It also encourages their parents to openly talk about their children without reservations, discuss the difficulties they face, and focus on the rewarding and positive aspects of being a parent of a child with special needs.

The project was realized thanks to the collective effort of Montreal-based mommies and ladies who contributed their time and experience to publish it. The book was originally written in Armenian and translated into English by Nouchig Sarafian. I later translated it into French, with the help of Serena Kasparian. The illustration was realized by Sarine Sabounjian and the Graphic design by Semaline Bekarian
